Corona Virus (COVID 19) UPDATE

Update from 13th May

Following the UK Government's announcement on Monday about tennis being one of the sports which can resume being played from Wednesday 13th May, I can confirm that it is our intention to open the tennis courts from 10am tomorrow.

The Lawn Tennis Association have now issued their guidelines for playing safe tennis during this time which is attached to this e-mail. Please can you read this document before coming to play tennis at Hampton in Arden Tennis Club.

In addition to the LTA guidelines, the Hampton in Arden tennis committee have also agreed the following local rules to ensure the safety of our playing members:

  1. Court 2 will be closed for the time being in order to maintain a suitable gap between court 1 and court 3.
  2. he entry gates will be left open to avoid the need to touch the locks.
  3. Each court will have a dedicated entry / exit gate: Court 1 please use the gate near the clubhouse, Court 3 please use the gate for the mini court and Court 4 please use the gate which directly leads onto court 4 near the scout and guide hut. If you would like to use the mini court please book court 3.
  4. You will need to book a court to play - please enter all players names onto the booking system if possible.
  5. For the time being visitors will not be allowed to play.
  6. No social tennis sessions or group sessions are allowed.
  7. A one off singles box-league competition will be run over the summer - details to be announced shortly.
  8. As stated in the LTA guidelines only singles matches can be played. The ONLY doubles match that can be played is for members of the SAME household.

I appreciate these rules will take some getting used to but they are essential to ensure the safety of all our members so please read them before coming to play.

Stay safe
